Great news for fans of the classic Dragon’s Lair games, as game publisher Destineer has announced today that it is teaming up with Digital Leisure to develop Dragon’s Lair Trilogy, bringing the three classic arcade adventures together on one disc for the first time ever on a console platform. Dragon’s Lair, Dragon’s Lair 2: Time Warp, and Space Ace were all created by legendary American animator Don Bluth, and are undeniably a part of gaming history.

Dragon’s Lair made its debut in 1983, and features brave knight, Dirk the Daring, who is on a quest to rescue Princess Daphne from the clutches of an evil dragon. The player controls the actions of Dirk on his journey through a dark wizard’s castle, filled with monsters and obstacles. Space Ace came straight after Dragon’s Lair, and featured hero Ace, who was attempting to stop evil Commander Borf taking over the world.

Finally, Dragon’s Lair 2 saw the return of Dirk the Daring, once again out to rescue Princess Daphne from the clutches of evil wizard Mordroc, but this time having to travel throught time to get her back.

All three games are completely authentic, and feature the original gameplay modes, remastered animation, standard and widescreen editions, all-new move guides for beginners, and Watch Mode, in which you can watch all of the animation without having to play the game.

The Dragon’s Lair Trilogy will be available for Wii this fall, for an SRP of $29.99.
