You know the one I'm talking about, the one you've been whistling to yourself for the past 2 weeks or so. Yeah that one.

Anyway, have you noticed that as you collect more stars, the music "fleshes" out more. When you first start the game and enter the observatory the first time the music you here is very flute heavy. As you start getting stars, the music gradually starts adding in a heavier strings part and some other parts as well.

Compare the sound of this link (it's not mine), to the observatory theme in your game currently. I have 50 stars at the moment and I can definitely hear a difference.

EDIT: Mum seems to think that this tune is an old waltz, possibly by Strauss. I told her that is an original Nintendo tune composed for Galaxy. But how I think I about it, I have heard it before; does anyone have anymore knowledge on this?

Can't say I have noticed a difference in the sound.
But to be honest I don't tend to stick around in there too long, I go and get the job done

Well what do you know. I little searching on YouTube came up with this...

When you first start you hear this music...

------------------------------

After you get a few power stars the music changes to this...

------------------------------

And once you get 5-6 this plays...

------------------------------

Now that's a pretty cool trick. You gotta love the music in this game. The observatory music sort of grows in confidence as you grow in confidence as well.

i remember getting a feeling that it might of changed but didnt really catch onto it, nice way to give the player a sense of progression.

I'd also not really made the connection with the growing number of lunas and the music changing.. .. .. .. but those 3 clips really distinguish the different sounds.

The reason I caught on to it is a couple of months ago I was listening to IGN's Wiik-in-Review and the played a clip of the observatory music (the 5-6 star version). I took to it instantly and was slightly disappointed when I got the game that the music was quieter and gentler. I realised as I got further in that the music didn't seem so bad any more. That's when I twigged. It really is a good, feel-good way of showing progression.

There's music that does this in other Nintendo Games, like the title screen of Yoshi's Island for SNES
