Disney Interactive Studios announced today that it has released Brave: The Video Game for all major consoles, including the Wii. The game continues the story of the motion picture, so that fans can relive highlights from Merida’s heroic journey to undo a beastly curse before time runs out. Players will get to run, jump and battle their way through the rugged landscape of mythical and mysterious Scotland in the third-person action adventure, playing Merida, who is voiced in the game, as she is in the film, by Kelly Macdonald. Players will face off against fierce enemies in an attempt to end an ancient curse and save the kingdom. Gameplay involves quests through a mystical world, and lots of puzzle-solving to uncover secrets.

“The exciting action-adventure gameplay that takes place in Brave: The Video Game expands the tale beyond the movie’s storyline, giving fans both a fun and engaging gaming experience,” said Javier Ferreira, Senior Vice President of Publishing, Disney Interactive Media Group. “Brave: The Video Game allows players to truly be part of this exciting fantasy adventure, full of the rich storytelling heritage and quality that Disney•Pixar does best.”

Gameplay modes include single-player as Merida, a co-op mode with a will o’ the wisp, and a special Bear mode. Several new opponents have been created entirely for the game, ensuring that the player is challenged throughout the game, ending up with the ultimate boss battle.
