Things aren't really so silent in Silent Hill, what with the barrage of series announcements publisher and developer Konami let loose at this year's E3 event.

The first is for the series' next home console entry, Silent Hll: Downpour. The Vatra-developed game showed off its 3D functionality for the first time on the E3 2011 showfloor. Konami also announced that Korn have signed on to create one track exclusively for the game to complement composer Dan Licht's game score.

The Silent Hill HD Collection was also given a release window. While the original announcement didn't mention one, Konami now has the collection scheduled for a Q4 release on PS3. Silimarly, Silent Hill Downpour is also slated for a Q4 launch on PS3 and Xbox 360. The Silent Hil HD Collection will include remastered editions of both Silent Hill 2 and 3.

Finally, the newly-announced PlayStation Vita will also be getting a Silent Hill title in the form of Silent Hill: Book of Memories. It will have an all-new scenario and soundtrack, and links past and present events in the series in one game.

Silent Hill: Book of Memories doesn't have a release window yet. The game will be the series' first multiplayer-capable entry. Working with a friend, players are left stranded in Silent Hill, where they must work together in order to escape the town and its inhuman denizens.
I think its strange how they wanted KoRn to do the theme song for this new silent hill. But this could work for KoRn
