is there any way to turn the volume down on the wii remote? if not my dads gonna put gaffa tape round it!

Yes. Click the home button on the remote, then click the button of the screen where the on-screen remote is pictured. A menu will appear allowing you to turn down the volume, and other options as well.

Press the "Home" button, or the button with the house on the wii remote.
Then down at the bottom, click wii remote settings.

There you can change all thsoe goodies.
