I know wii games will work on both consoles, but wii u games will only work on a wii u. Not sure if that's what u are asking, please elaborate.

the wii u is a new console. if you mean will the new touch screen controller work on your old wii the answer is no, you will need to get the new console.your old wiimotes, nunchucks and balance boards will work with the new console.hope that helps.
