I cant find Lanayru, spirit spring

Hi all, I have followed various walkthroughs and I still can't find this guy. any help would be much appriciated. cheers.

He's at lake Hylia, there should be a big red dot in the minimap indicating where he is. o ya hes inside a cave not outside like the other ones
