LAN Connection Issues

Hi, new here. =)

Yeah, so it's actually a less efficient means of connection, but whatever.

So I have my connection set up, and connection tests are successful, but the Wii System Update that follows those tests always fails, and when I try to activate WiiConnect24, the connection attempt for that fails too.

The error is this:

Error Code: 32004
An error has occurred. Unable to perform the Wii System Update.

Can anyone help? =/

Oh, and yes, the LAN Adapter is an official Nintendo one: Model RVL-015.

Do you have it plugged into your computer or a router?

You might possibly need to edit firewall rules or lower (note, not disable) security.

Strange, my LAN adaptor hooked up no problem. Didn't even require any fussing around, just pluged it in and away it went. Although I went for datel's.

I take it you're using an ethernet cable.

What router have you got?

It's a Vigor2600 ADSL LAN Modem, actually, from DrayTek.

If you have any SSID or WEP security on it, it may need to be configured.

If you do have either of those, simply copy the codes down and enter them into your Wii, and that should sort out the problem.

Unfortunately I don't know how you'd do that, but if it's anything like mine, you should be able to log onto the router by using it's IP adress; for example, http://255.255.0.5 (this is just an example don't bother clicking the link, it doesn't go anywhere).
