Need some more info on Smash Bros online!

Ok here it is, plain and simple: Does anybody know how many people can play SSB online at once as in, can 3 friends and I play at the same time vs. four other people online.

If I learn that this isnt possible, I will not buy this game.

I mean I almost returned strikers due to this (only 2 were allowed ).

Need info.

Well considering theres a 4 player max in SSBB, yeah cant bring 3 friends and face other 4

yea I kinda realized only 4 players max! ha my bad.

Ok then, can you have like 3v1, or 2v2 meaning friends at my house can play too online.
yall know what Im getting at.

I noticed there are two options: playing with friends and playing with random people. Why not both? I want to know if a friend and I can take on 2 other random people.
