The next time you finish a match or something, they will pop up again.

Sonic: Complete the Subspace Emissary or 300 VS matches

Thats how you unlock Sonic.

u can also unlock sonic by beating classic 10 times

I'm going to unlock Sonic next time I beat Classic, I"M SO PUMPED...
And about the challenger approaching losing thing....
I beat Classic last night and lost against Captain Falcon, embarrassing yes, but he has yet to approach me again, I'm pretty sure I have to beat it in under 10 minutes again, with the versus unlocking I think you can just win again and get challenged but with "technical" unlocking you have to do the "technicallness" again...

i read that i just have to finish classical mode with link, but it doesnt work
