Ive heard with early wii models that theres a "trick" to play import gamecube games (replacing discs VERY QUICKLY, lol), but if I have a newer model of wii, I am wondering if a gamecube action replay or gamecube freeloader on the wii will play import gamecube games (since the gc action replay works fine on a gc for all import software). I have heard the gamecube tools above may have problems working on newer models of the wii, but Im not 100% certain, so thought id ask here.
Ive just looked at my own freeloader disc, on the data side it states version 1.06B, as with:-

most stores only seem to sell 1.06B, so has anyone managed to get this version of the gc freeloader to work on their updated euro/uk wii for import games? if not, is there another easier way to get an updated wii to work with imported gamecube games? or would I be better off using a gamecube action replay for playing imports on the wii? thanks for any info
