i'm trying to connect to wii shop channel and it says "the wii shop channel is currently undergoing maintenance" whatsoever going on

it means that the wii shop channel is currently undergoing maintenance
probably a routine update or something like that

That happen to me once, what i did was i updated my wii.

It must be getting a channel update or maybe it was your connection.
Try again later to see if its working or any different.
