Is it an absolute must to have the magic armor in the Twilight Castle? I am about to enter and I just want to know. Thanks, and don't spoil anything for me please.

No, it is not required and really unless you have the biggest wallet (1000 rupees) its pointless cause it won't last long enough.

No you don't have to buy it.

It can help in a few of the tougher battles(ie. Three knights) but it is not a must......
