Star fox 64 question

So I was playing the game star fox 64, and I realized I didn't know what was on the cartridge.... It is a red machine type of thing. It's the little picture on the game cartridge. What is it?

the red clawed robot?, its just an enemy that appear on the level with the Train area i think, the one where u start with the ground vehicle and have to change the lanes by shooting the signposts.

That's lame! I was told about ten years ago it was an unlockable vehicle
