I've been driving all around Adelaide today looking for Wii component cables. One of the stores I went into was JB Hi Fi, who I noticed are selling Wii games for $80! that is a whole $20 less than EB, Target, K Mart etc. Don't know how they are doing it to be honest.

Anyway, thought I should tell people about it :D

I love JB, I got Red Steel, COD3 and Rayman all for $80 each, plus a classic controller for $25. They've got all sorts of accessories as well, but no consoles! Not that that bothers me, I've already got one.

@AussieWii
neither did I. I just spent $100 on Red Steel at K Mart! :mad:

@Toddy
Yeah they do (that's where I got mine). I don't actually trust JB when it comes to orderign things though. I have asked them to order in a couple of things over the years and I never got a call. I only pre-ordered my wii through them because they were the first to take orders.

I find JB's DVDs are a bit up and down. they're either really expensive or really cheap. Thankfully, in the case of the wii, they seem to be very cheap!

Hmm, thats handy to know, I'll give em a call in the morning and if they have some in stock I'll go over there. If not, I won't worry about ordering one.

yeah, I would reccommend ordering one from a larger store like Myer or Target. EB are pretty good too. In fact, any store that specialises in games should be good, but obvsiously the larger stores like Myer etc. are going to get first pick at the next shipment, so I think they would be the best choice.

EB is the best store for pre-ordering new consoles... they have like lil parties on the release night and stuff. plus they specialise in games, and are the best gameshop in australia .

the thing i dont like about eb games is they say they will price match anyone

they sell their games for 100 bucks knowing full well that target not 200 metres away is selling the same game for 75 bucks

if i go into eb games and tell them they will price match for me

but why should i ?
why not just save the walk back and give the buisness to the shop that is not ripping me off ?

when i leave the shop they will still happily sell the same game to some unsuspecting sucker that walks in there for 100 bucks

eb games = i dont like them

:frown2:

Whats the chances of JB in Narre Warren, Vic having any consoles. I would never think of a shop like JB selling game consoles.

duuuuuuudeeeee! ur missing out on sooo much! I feel like making love to my Wii, oh yeah...

lol Sameiru, that was mean!

I know that new shipment is coming in mid-to-late january, so I can guarentee you will have a console before the end of the month (I seem to remember January 18, but I coul dbe wrong. sometime in Jan anyway).

My recommendation is to call around the smaller stores. Everyone goes to EBs and Target, but people forget about the small businesses. I went to about 8 or 9 different stores today looking for component cables and they were all on backorder. I was told by one store that they had sold out of their NEXT shipment, so I'd have to wait until the shipment AFTER the next.

I got home and in a last ditch effort I called up GameBiz, a small business down the road from me in adelaide and they had 2 of them!

Even so, it is a long shot. I'm not sure if there are any out there at the moment. But worst case scenario is a 2-3 week wait I'd say.

EDIT: Dick Smiths have some in a few stores, if you live in VIC or NSW:
NSW/ACT:- Bankstown PowerHouse, Warringah Mall PowerHouse VIC:- Camberwell DSE, Geelong PowerHouse, Highpoint PowerHouse, Knox City PowerHouse, Southland PowerHouse.

according to their website each of these stores have 2 consoles or less!

Yeah, I've started thinking of all the little stores. I rang around this morning (K-Mart, Big w, Target, EB) and they all said they didn't have any and had no idea when they would get another shipment. I rang my closest Dick Smith's (which isn't on that VIC list) and they said they'd also ran out of stock. Going to try out Toy World tommorow morining and if that fails, JB Hi-Fi.
