Update required before Sonic & Sega Allstars

Unsure if this is correct forum for this question or whether it should be in hardware!

We have a Wii at work which is not connected to any broadband internet. I want to play Sonic and Sega All Stars Racing on it but whenb I insert the disk, it says "Update needed" in the box where the disc normally shows up. It will not let me select the game to play it, it says it requires this update to play the game. The Wii plays Sports Resort fine at the moment.
So my question is, how can I update the Wii without having to connect to the internet, which I cannot do. Can I get the update from my laptop and put it on a USB or SD perhaps?

this is wierd..when the game says it needs an update it installs from the disc itself.. no need for internet.

just click on the game window or something until the update begins...not sure.

Yeah unfortunately it wont let me click on the game link/window (whatever the little box on top right is called!). Can't access the game at all. Tried settings menu and only option in there is a system update again requiring internet connection!
