Hi

It looks like im not alone with the same error message as others.

Im trying to connect my wii to a linksys wireless router. i have allt he details required to connect, but first of all it came up with error 52030 on a auto search and now doing a manual search its 52032. Please can anyone guide me through what I need to do to connect?

lmartin078,

i'd first suggest editting your message and removing your email address.
you *might* get spammed otherwise.

ok, what linksys router are you using?

i've had issues with a linksys WRT54GS and the Wii, which to a degree
i have now "solved". the downside is that although i can use the internet
channel (via opera) i can't access the weather channel....the update feature
worked ok though.

this is what i did.....

1. turned off (LAN) DHCP on the 54GS
2. enabled WPA-TKIP encryption
3. entered the Wii's MAC address into the permitted MAC access list.
4. set wireless speed to 802.11g only
5. rebooted the router.
6. created a "new" wireless connection in the Wii's internet settings.
7. entered all relevant IP / default router (gateway) information manually.
8. ...and probably most crucially, under DNS settings, i entered my actual ISP
primary and secondary DNS addresses, rather than using the routers IP
as the DNS value

if you feel confident making these changes, have a go.

post back if you experience any more issues.

I have a wireless linksys WRT54G version 6 and I had a problem with the Nintendo DS and all I had to do is "disable" the WEP security and it works fine although my dads laptop can't access the internet wirelessy anymore unless I change it back to what it was and if I want to get on my DS with Wi-Fi I just "Disable" it again (it's a back and forth process which is probably gonna get more complicated one I get my Wii), and I don't know if the setup for the Wii and DS are different yet, I hope this helps.

Try changing the MTU. My weather and news channels were not working most of the time until I changed the MTU to 1500. While the update or the Internet and shop channels always work. That is due to a packet size issue.

cheers billcsho, but my MTU is already @ 1500 by default.

tbh, it's no great loss not having the weather channel. as long opera
can get online and i can update, i'm happy!
