The Wii can get online via WiFi. Wii Connect24 refers to the fact that if you leave your Wii in stand-by mode it will connect to the internet every so often to check for messages/updates. It will be possible in the future for some games to by played online with friends; games will have to be coded to do so. Currently the only games that semi-supports this is elibits. . .you can trade maps, but not actually play together.
