'Sides monies, the point is a very specific target audience: super casual gamers. Casuals who solely buy games like Wii Sports or Just Dance. It's a cheap alternative to buyin' a normal Wii. It ain't sad at all, it's smart marketing.
... Though said marketing has a flaw. You can just buy a used Wii for the same price (or less). It's a good idea, but they released it on the market a tad late. Though, unless the Mini nets more profits per-sale than the normal Wii, it doesn't really matter t' them. 'Specially since super casual gamers are the sort that buy everythin' new. They ain't 'bout budget purchases 'less they're actually poor.
