Atari has today announced an all-new football game for the Wii – Backyard Sports: Rookie Rush, to be released in November with an SRP of $29.99. This is the second title released featuring the new look and feel of the Backyard Sports franchise, which is the best selling kids sports series of all time. Backyard Sports: Sandlot Sluggers, the first game to showcase the series’ new look, was a huge success, both critically and commercially, earning 4 out of 4 stars from USA Today.

Backyard Sports: Rookie Rush offers players the opportunity to play along with such fan faves as Pablo, Dmitri and Joey as they block and tackle their way through energetic, kid-friendly football games on 12 interactive neighbourhood fields, many representing each character’s home turf. You can play pick-up football games with your Backyard Sports neighbourhood friends in both single game and tournament options, or play the game in the new story mode, with the storyline centering on the Backyard kids who must come to terms with the new kid on the block, combine their unique talents, overcome egos and the odds in order to win a tournament and a big grand prize.
