Hey all,

Anyone know of a way to customize the miis with your own images? Like photos for faces, designs on the bodies, etc?

Thanks!

Through the Wii, that's not possible.

Haha, well that's that then. Thanks! But may I ask how you know this for sure? Have you tried it or read something about it?

The whole point behind the "mii" concept is that it's a cartoonish depiction or caricature of yourself...

If you could use photo's there would be no point been able to create a mii, and also it would raise security issues that nintendo are terrified of (people using bad language or rude photo's for their mii etc)

Hope this helps

Although an enhanced mii channel might sound nice, it's unlikely for a few reasons...

Firstly the games that support Mii's would probably have to be patched to handle the new style Mii's, and as we know that the Wii and game patches don't go together...

Secondly, Nintendo are paranoid about letting Wii owners communicate - hence no voice chat, photo avatars... If the new Mii channel allowed you to use photo's, it would allow someone to upload porn or an image of swear words and use that as their Mii, and hence show that to minors.

Thirdly, the existing Mii's work so well, it's easy and quick to knock one up that looks like you, so why complicate matters and possibly alienate some of their users?

If you think that the Mii channel is too basic, then you should check out the Mii's that creative people can make on the Mii Contest channel, everything from Darth Vader to Einstein...

I really don't get Miis. For all the stuff that Nintendo uses to promote them (Check Mii Out, Everybody Votes, Mii creator, etc), they are pretty much never used. What games uses them besides Wii Sports? A buried corner of Mario Party 8 (not even the main games). Nintendo won't let third-party developers use them in their games (despite them begging to) and Nintendo hardly uses them themselves.

To me, the Mii concept seems one that failed. A gimmick with a poor implementation. They should just let them fizzle out and go away.

Hmm well lets see the Wii has been out for quite some time now so um yeah I think we would know about it.

Its ridiculous how Nintendo wont let any communication whatsoever....thats a big reason as to why its miles behind the xbox in terms of online play

Nintendo will never nail online play, they..they just wont.

Everyone knows it deep down inside.
This person (a member of the "everyone" category) disagrees. So you're wrong.

Well no need to be rude. I was just curious. I'm actually finding out for someone else, and was just looking for something I could quote to them. I didn't think this option would ever be available, either, but if Nintendo had said as much somewhere I would have appreciated the link. That's all.

Thanks for all the replies! I know it makes sense to not officially allow this feature, but I'm finding out for someone else who was interested in putting a logo on the Miis for a promotion, not a photo for the face or anything like that. I was wondering if anyone had figured out another way to do it yet, lol, but I guess not.
