The Beybladers are back and they’re taking over your Wii this fall, and we’ve got the screenshots to prove it. Hudson Soft first announced Beyblade: Metal Fusion – Battle Fortress a few weeks back, but everything went a bit quiet after that, until now, that is, with the first screenshots and artwork being released at E3, as well as a whole bunch of Beyblading factoids.

The gameplay centres around the World Beyblading Championships, where teams do battle with their enhanced spinning Beyblades, which can be customised with different defensive and offensive abilities. Each Beyblade is also equipped with special attacks, ensuring that the champion Beyblader will be he or she who is most adept at utilizing customisation and special attacks.

As you would expect, the game features actual characters from the Beyblade: Metal Fusion animated TV series, with whom you can complete a game-specific story, as well as compete against 3 other human or AI controlled enemies in 4-player Battle Mode. Choose to either co-operate with allies or all gang up on one opponent. And if you like going round to your friends’ houses to play the game, you can save and carry the blades you create with you via your Wii Remote.
