How do you break opponents swords?

I'm about 60% through the game, but don't think I've ever broken an opponents sword.

I can do the special moves and Sword Katas that I've been taught but how do you break somebody's sword?

I thought that after you've Parry'd an attack with your left hand weapon you strike with it again? I also though you could do this when you'd sent the opponent off balance?

Which direction do you swing the nunchuck?

to destroy you're opponents swords, you have to dodge an enemy attack, and then swing the nunchuck straight after. i think it only works with those powerful attacks though. hope this helps

easyist way to break an opponents sword, is to do your special sword moves, and if they block it, there sword damage will go down.

When they pull back for a hard attack, dodge it, and immediately do the Z+Wiimote down+Nunchuck down move. This will either hit them, or get blocked - if it gets blocked, it damages their sword.

i always use the move where once there off balance, hold z and pull the nunchuck and wiimote in different directions

The hammer attack breaks their sword str8 after you dodge their blade, some enemys don't have sword health so you will have to harm them instead
