Japanese DS games???

I want to but The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass from Japan and I know the DS is region free but if I get the game does ia the game only in Japanese or does it have English sub titles too?
Im just asking since some Japanese games have both English and Japanese text on them.

DONT BUY THE JAP VER

It has a massive reliance on text (at the start anyway) and no English option
You also need to draw some Jap symbols
