Bigben Interactive in Association with Marvel Entertainment has today announced Marvel Superheroes 3D: Grandmaster’s Challenge, a new adventure set in the Marvel universe and due to appear exclusively on the Nintendo Wii. Marvel fans will be glad to know that they don’t have long to wait, as the game is actually scheduled for release on November 26, 2010.

The game’s storyline revolves around supervillain Grandmaster imprisoning five Marvel heroes – Spider-Man, Captain America, Thor, Iron Man and Wolverine – as part of a deadly game that he is playing simply for kicks. In this game, the heroes are forced to play along and complete a variety of challenges designed to test their abilities to their limits, as the Grandmaster manipulates them like pawns in his own private chess game. Sounds a bit like a Marvel version of Saw without the gore and ickyness! As far as multiplayer gameplay goes, up to four players can participate to compete against the Grandmaster and his band of villainous henchmen, all the while joining forces to break the dome and win their freedom.

As if that doesn’t sound cool enough, Marvel Superheroes 3D: Grandmaster’s Challenge will be bundled with a selection of five superhero masks, one for each of the lead characters. Each mask is embedded with relief 3D glasses in the optical outlets, allowing players to experience the game in 3D. The 3D mode can be switched on and off at will from an in-game menu and can be experienced on any display with no additional technology.
