Newb question

I looked up and down the forums for the answer but coudlnt' find it. If i want to add people to my friend's list on my Wii do I just do it? or do they need to be informed of first? I'm new here and don't know Wii etiquette too well yet.

They need to know first so they can add you back.
That way you can exchange messages with each other and overall be friends

Yep. Just use the forum to tell them you are adding them.
