Nintendo WiFi USB connector help

For the last two hours I have been going through troubleshooting pages, and nothing seems to help. I run the CD that came with my USB connector, plug in the WiFi card to my USB port when asked, it continues to run until about 70%. It then asks me to plug in the WiFi card again, I plug it in, see the green blinking light, press ok, and get "Application failure".

I just purchased my Wii today and am very new to this, if anyone has had a similar experience, or could help in fixing this I would be very appriciative, thank you in advance.

I just went out and got a wireless router and brought back the USB connector, problem solved lol.
