most of that can be avoided by arming yourself with a little simple knowledge about your hardware. Know how to use your router, know how to access its administration pages, and learn how to disable or enable features! While the firewall may be very important, I would recommend turning the NAT Firewall off on your router, and using a software solution on your PC to keep yourself clean. Now the wii will have a clean shot out to the net, either that or put the Wii into a DMZ! Either way, learning to use ones hardware WILL avoid problems such as error codes, etc.
