Still can't get connected - read all the FAQs

Okay, I have all of the FAQs and threads about this, but have still not come up with a solution. I hope someone can help.

I have Verizon DSL, a Westell 327W wireless router, and the Wii of course.

I go through the Wii Online Connection Guide, it finds the access point fine with the correct SSID. The connection test fails.

I change the settings on my router to channel 1, turn WEP off. I even tried setting up the Wii connection settings manually, still nothing. I am getting the 52030 error (or similar, I'm not in front of it right now).

Can anyone help?

Edit: I am also having trouble updating the Firmware for my router. I got the file from Verizon's site, but it keeps telling me the update failed when I try to run the program.

Can other devices connect wirelessly to your router?

Channel 1 might have interference. Try 6 and/or 11.

i have the same problem
is it cause its not updated? or is it because its a modem, not router?
do i have to buy a LAN adapter fer it>?

I have to PCs connected wirelessy to the router. It is a router/modem direct from Verizon. I also updated the firmware to the latest version.

I finally got it! I had to create a default profile on my router that contained the username/password for the internet account.
