TV/Wii Turn on/Off

Is there anyway you can set or hack your wii mote to turn on your wii and your TV? It's hard enough finding one remote under the couch but now nintendo expects us to find two.

I searched google and had no luck but perhaps someone knows of a link how.

you could always tie a string around the wiimote wriststrap then tie the other end to your tv remote. That way you're only searching for one remote.

I'm not 100% sure but if you got a universal remote you might be able to program it for both. I would assume the signal for the wii is different than any for TVs so it's probably not possible yet, but I wouldn't be surprised to see one in the near future.
