European developer Nordcurrent has today announced that a free demo of WiiWare game Urbanix is now available to download from the Wii Shop in North America . Urbanix is a tribute to the hit arcade games of the 80s, where the player gets to control a tiny tractor and build a town on an empty field within the time limit, while avoiding the enemies that are trying to stop you. The full game features 150 levels in total, across three different locations, with different gameplay mechanics and visuals for each location. Here’s Victoria Trofimova, Director at Nordcurrent, talking about the game: “There were so many hit arcade games in the 80s that haven’t been remade for modern consoles and handhelds. We felt that we needed to do something to fill this gap. Urbanix combines the best gameplay elements of old arcade hits with modern graphics and sound. What we got in the end is a pure good-looking fun!” Click here to view the embedded video.
