What the hell are those little slips of paper..?

Mk. Got Brawl last night. Who didn't?
I've been playing SSE, and there are little slips of paper that I keep picking up, and I have no idea what they do. They don't regenerate any health or anything like that...
Does anyone have any idea about their purpose?

Oh, and also, does playing through SSE unlock all the characters you encounter in it?

1. I have been wondering about the papers too...I'm guessing they're stickers.
2. You can unlock all the characters by playing through the SSE. Or, you can play a certain amount of 'Brawl' matches to obtain them.

Well I wondered about the papers, and yes, they're stickers, it's good to pick them up.

I'm pretty sure those little slips of paper add entries to the Vault-> Chronicle, which lists many of the Nintendo games to date.

Ah, mk. Stickers. I had thought they were, but after checking my sticker gallery thing after picking up two or three after the first level, I had seen nothing and dismissed that possibility.
Must have made a mistake somewhere.
