Widescreen with VC

I have my TV set to widescreen and my Wii to widescreen. When I play VC games, do I need to adjust the TV settings to 4:3 and will the Wii adjust itself or do I need to change the Wii settings? (The same goes with GC games.)

I don't adjust it and it looks fine to me. It stretches the image, but not really enought to be noticable on most games. A handful of NES games look a little odd. Games like Donkey Kong it's obvious that play field is wider than you remember, but not enought to worry about.
