Nintendo announced today that the Wii U is about to embark on its own tour of the UK, a bit like a rockstar! Well, maybe that’s going a bit far, but it is quite exciting, as if you’re near any of the venues it means that for the early part of the tour at least, you’ll get to see and play the Wii U before anyone else! The Wii U showcase tour kicks off in London on September 27, and will then visit a range of shopping centres, gaming expos and events across the UK, before retiring to its country estate to recover, no doubt! Fans attending any of the venues will get the chance to play some of the pre-release titles, and use the GamePad of course. Games such as Super Mario Bros. U, Nintendo Land and the hotly anticipated ZombiU from Ubisoft . And, even more excitingly the real Mario and Luigi (it says here) will be there to welcome you, and you’ll also be able to get your hands on lots of prizes by completing Wii U challenges. Here’s a complete list of venues:

    • Eurogamer Expo, London: 27th – 30th September
    • Braehead shopping centre, Glasgow: 11th – 14th October
    • Play Expo, Manchester: 13th – 14th
    • Westfield, Derby: 18th – 21st October
    • MCM Expo, London: 26th – 28th October
    • Highcross Shopping Centre, Leicester: 1st – 4th November
    • The Bullring, Birmingham: 8th – 11th November
    • Westfield Stratford City, London: 15th – 18th November
    • Metro Centre, Newcastle: 22nd – 25th November
    • Gadget Show Christmas, London: 30th November – 2nd December
    • Westfield, London: 6th – 9th December
    • Centre: MK, Milton Keynes: 13th – 16th December
    • Arndale centre, Manchester: 3rd – 6th January

Doubtless similar tours will be planned in other countries, we’ll let you know when we hear more.
