Anyone else have volume normalization issues with HD over cable?

My heart just skipped a beat. I was on ABCHD then a new show started and it was easily 8DB louder than the past 90 minutes of programming WTF!

I never have this problem with OTA.

Could it be a problem with my QAM tuner? I had to use an external one because my set only does ATSC.

Scared like hell.
My one went from like just hearable to super loud briefly
