Excite Truck 2 - Online? *pics*

Just found these 2 screenshots in my inbox reportedly from Excite Truck 2 which will feature online play.

These screens are apparently taken from the Excite Truck 2 BETA.

Here's the corresponding press release recently issued:

Excite Truck 2 is on the way.

As every multiplayer addict asked for it, Excite Truck 2 will have an online multiplayer mode : up to 6 players, with Mii dispay. According to Nintendo's privacy policy, the "friend code" system will be applicated. A lot of online options will be available.

A bunch of new tracks will be playable with 8 environments, among which the brand new couple of tracks taking place on the Moon. Be sure that you will take a flight at low gravity !

The "Stars" system during the race is still there, and you will have to master two new tricks : frontflip and backflip. Those who already played Excite Truck can easily imagine the way they will be able to perform these tricks !

With your "Stars", get some "Excite Points" to upgrade your truck to an amazing monster of steel an power !

The graphics will be improved, with better visual effects and shadows. We even implemented several ambiances to every track, like dawn or sunset.

The two screenshots linked below were taken from a beta version, but they already show the global quality of the game.

The press release is riddled with poor grammar and spelling so that does cast doubt over this news, although gamespress is a trusted PR source, not sure how/why they'd let this slip through

Hmm I think it's fake, all they've done it add the players name bit, I think if there is a seconds Excite truck then they'd make a few changes too it, as it is there it's exactly the same.

But I do hope it's online

Never picked up Excite Truck and don't plan to but I might pick up 2 if it comes around considering there are really no changes I'm guessing if it's online then it's just an update

GoNintendo say its fake..but then the post says "Who knows, maybe it'll be real by the time I get up" so...maybe their just thought of as fake because they havent been confirmed.

Excite Truck is really fun, but I don't think there will be an Excite Truck 2

What? Does exite truck have that good graphics.!? First i thought it was motorstorm. And i have tryed motorstorm.

that is excite graphics, and it does look fake (however highly appealing) new trucks and stages i havent seen though :crazy:

excite truck is an awesome game its one of the best multi player games i have, i think... the sequel could also use 4 player mode.... 2 isnt enough (like on the first)

motor storm looks soooooooooooooooooooo much better, i wouldnt buy the PS# even if it was 400, but i've played motorstorm and those graphics are amazing.. especially the crash sequence

they might be making a modified version of excite truck. for when excite truck comes out.. that would be awesome..and it would explain the minor changes)..

Seems the images are from an early BETA version, updated to include the press release.

Considering the 'friend codes' are only called 'friend codes' for the DS, I call BS for now. You would think a company issuing a press release, while developing software for a system, would at least get the terminology correct. Plus, the grammar is terrible. There is no way a PR person would release a press release that reads that poorly.

It may very well be true that online multi-player is coming to the next version, but not announced as of yet.

I think its cool and all for a sequel. I'd get it for sure, Excite Truck is a wicked game

Thats what it needed. The original one with online would have been even better than it already is. This one sounds cool though.
