REALLY! I thought it was just strikers. Can we really not play SSBB when it comes out??M@gicM@rk said:Yes, the online is region-locked.
You can still send messages to your friend's Wii, even if they are on another continent, but you can't play games online with them.
It's gay.
Not on Strikers.Jay588 said:i thought you could play different regions if you have their friend code? might lag a bit... im pretty sure ive done it on msc...hmmm
I can think of a worse one:M@gicM@rk said:All online games are (and will be) region locked, unless otherwise stated by Nintendo.
Not going to happen, though, being the tards they are...
It's by far the worst decision Nintendo has made, I have to say...

Actually it is there second venture into online on a home console.Deathwizar said:Does the regional thing stink? Yes. Are you guys taken it a bit far on Nintendo? Yes. You are comparing them to Microsoft and Xbox live. Lets see how fair this comparison is.
Nintendo Wii- First generation online
Xbox 360 - Second generation online (yes i know xbox was not regional read the rest)
Nintendo- For the most part 100% Console and portable gaming system.
Microsoft- More servers/computers than games at all (Also about a much larger corperation).
Lets see Microsoft has 1. makes networks and servers (other than routers). 2. Microsoft already has huge networks in place for games and has been doing all this for 10 years at least.
You need to give Nintendo some time to get things in order. The reason you can not play internationally isn't that they are making a stupid decision and doign it because they don't want you to play the people. It is simply they don't have the ability to do it and make it as low lag and high quality as it currently is. Could they probably rig it to work? Most likely, but then the same people would be complaining about the bad lag and quality of it.
Not to mention lets see all that Xbox live servers wonder how they pay for it. O yeah that fee you have to pay every month. Thats funny seems like Nintendo didn't have the equipment for this, had to get that. Didn't have expertise in it so had to hire people for that. Sells there system allot cheaper. Designed a totally new way of control. O yeah and it's online is still free.
