NintendoWorldReport writes that Nintendo has confirmed that leaked box art images for Wii U games such as Avengers: Battle for Earth that recently appeared on Target and Amazon’s websites are in fact genuine. According to the statement from Nintendo, the Wii U game box art has been finalised, and many of Nintendo’s publishing partners, such as Ubisoft and Warner Bros., have started to use the authorised Nintendo design for the box art for their forthcoming Wii U games. As you can see, the box art features a powder blue curved design at the top, a shape similar to that of the GameCube, with the already-familiar Wii U logo at the top of the box. Nintendo adds that while third-party publishers such as Ubisoft are free to release their final box art for their forthcoming Wii U games, Nintendo will only be publishing placeholder box art for its own in-house games for now, with the final art work to follow.
