Lost lives when saved?

I played SMG for about 3 hours. Had about 25 lives. Saved it, came back 2 hours later and I have 5 lives? Is this a bug or what?

Mine does that too.
It must be on purpose because whenever you get 5 lives in the mail they ask if you want them now or later.

It seems they've gone back to Mario 64's system where lives aren't saved. Fortunately, it's not too hard to earn them.

Yep... actually 9 (as there is a letter from Peach always)

At the bottom of the kitchen, there is a live... so everytime you enter - exit a level, the mushroom is there again.

Yeah, it kinda sucks but lives are pretty easy to accumulate in this game. There is also an extra life at the Garage, inside of the crate:wink:
