Anyone know or have heard if the entirety of the the NES/SNES/N64 library will eventually be released on the Virtual Console?

If not how much of the library? Based on what criteria?

I think the virtual console is great, but I think they charge WAY too much, 5 dollars for a nes game, 8 for sega genesis. To me it seems like a ripoff, as you cant transfer the games to another console, or your shop channel account. So if you buy alot of games you are screwed if and when your wii breaks. Sorry, its a little off topic.

Nobody knows. Just have patience. When and if Nintendo decides to release a list, there will be a topic here about it. Then you can use the handy search function.
But until then, patience.

VC library

Well I don't want the whole libraries obviously but there are some games I do want that are prob closer to bottom of mainstream VC list like UN Squadron, Lemmings, Gods and Rampart for SNES or Jackel for the NES.

I think it would be a smart move for Nintendo to offer at least up to 90% of their library. Quick easy profit for them.

VC

Well between a complete VC library of NES and SNES and N64, I could easily drop 20 000 points on downloads...

I would just like the costs to be even like 800 points for a SNES game is like spending 1000 points. You can't buy another NES game. So if all the un-even VC games would drop to 500 points I'd get some of them.

Nintendo has stated that if your Wii needs to be replaced, they will replace all downloads free of charge.

I bet there put the good/great games on first then in like 4-6 years from now when they are out of those games there put the ok/bad games on for a cheaper price.

There were estimates by Nintendo to have a few hundred Wii titles by the end of 2007. I heard 2012 they'll be close to max. At some point we'll see a lot more games released. This is big money for Nintendo and other game companies. No way they'll keep the current trend.

Also like they said on the Wii Podcast they will be small games made that will be able to be downloaded on your Wii along with VC games plus Wii Cade has over 100 games and I bet over 400 by the end of the year. Nintendo in the end will have the system with the most games and the most to do on it in the end, even if you cant watch DVDs (yet)

I doubt they'll get even 90% and if you look at the lists for each system, even just 70% would cover all the games that would be worthwhile. That's saying only about 30% of the games for each system were really really bad and that's being pretty nice I think. I'm sure everybody has at least a couple games in the 30% they'd still want, though. I'd want Alfred Chicken on SNES just because it was the first game I played that I remember regretting spending the $3.50 to rent so of course I'm willing to regret spending $8 to regret spending the total $11.50.

theres about 800 US release NES games.. i doubt all will be releast or even 50 percent of them.. probably only 100-150 are worth paying for..

Go through some of these lists... I think I was being really generous with even 70%. I don't know how many people will be heartbroken if 3 Ninjas Kick Back never makes it to the VC for SNES.
Also keep in mind games that were on SNES and Genesis.
BTW... I'd shave my head to get Jurassic Park on Genesis a.s.a.p.
