It seems as if it’s shaping up to be a golden week on the Wii this week. No sooner have we had the announcement from Nintendo about the special golden edition of The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, than we have today’s announcement of a golden turtle slowly making its way to the Wii before the end of the year. Said golden turtle is one of the titular characters in Wizarbox and Reef Entertainment’s new adventure game, Captain Morgane and the Golden Turtle. If you’re a fan of classic adventure games, then you’ll be as excited as I was to hear that the game has been written and developed by Steve Ince of Broken Sword and So Blonde fame. It’s the epic tale of Morgane Castillo, the young daughter of the renowned Pirate Alessandro Castillo, who grows up to become the most fearsome pirate of the Caribbean, and embarks on a quest to discover the mysterious treasure of the Golden Turtle after being hired to do so by a merchant who is obsessed with finding the treasure. It’s about time we had a quality adventure game on the Wii, so I have high hopes for this, coming as it does from the man behind the classic Broken Sword. The trailer certainly looks very promising.
