The 2009 Today's Gamers International Survey reveals a fact that has been pretty obvious for quite a while now: more and more US citizens consider playing video games as their primary past time.
The survey showed that 83% of the US citizens polled play video games, with this activity being the main choice of entertainment over watching TV or surfing the Internet. And gender apparently doesn't matter, too. Reportedly, 80% of all American females that participated in the survey admitted to playing games, while 87% of the men do. That's a no-brainer right there.
Female gamers were found, however, to favor playing on PC, with 54% expressing their preference for it, while only 44% of the US men do. It was not identified, however, whether or not the games that the females play are actual video games, or if they counted those game applications on Facebook.
If gender doesn't matter, then age shouldn't too. It was also found that young American boys between the age of 8-12 years spend an average of a whopping 13 hours a week playing their video games.
Europeans, on the other hand, were found to play less, racking up only 72% of admitted gamers among the participants.
