i fail to understand why people hate it so much

good graphics, good games, motion contoller, internet, free online gaming, HOME, pictures, music, conects with the psp

its just like the wii with more memory and better graphics

good graphics- graphics dosen't matter gameplay dose. 360 has graphics, nothing new. Wii sint too far behind.

motion controller- not really motion, wii has motion. Sony is just corprate crap who copies off everyone. Graphics and online from 360 motion controller from wii. (sorry a little biast, but think about it.)

internet- wii oprea browser pwns PS3 browser. Like wii concept much better.

online- not free, both other systems have online WITH games for it. GASP!

pictures/music- thats what an ipod is for buddy, unless you like carring 12 pounds in you pocket. Wii has a photo channel that lets you edit photos. Im pretty sure PS3 can only hold. Music is also avalible Via internet.

HOME- whats so great about half life minus the life? join an mmo dude...

Connects with PSP- Wii connects with DS in my oppinion a PSP 10 fold. PSP is like a PDA that happens to play like 20 games.

To be fair, I am a nintendo fanboy. But, I will try to give valid points.

Firstly, give some valid points and research, becuase Shiftfallout is owning just about everybody. There are two people who can actualy withstand him. Well done for stupidity.

@ Shiftfallout: You don't seem to realise something. Yes, the extra space on blu-ray opens up alot of development potential. But don't forget, so does the Wiimote. How much potential isn't an issue (yet). It depends on the developers right now, and how they make use of what they have. I think blu-ray could have been saved for the PS3's successor. With HD-DVD, there is still alot of space, and there is a much cheaper PS3.

Currently, Sony and Micorsoft are getting owned by Nintendo. Courtesy of a sale schart in a game magazine (ONM [Offical Nintendo Magazine], so this might be biased.), counting the GBA, DS, Wii, 360, PS3 and the PS3, Nintendo owns 51% of the US market. With this inital fanbase, Sony have alot to make up for. And I'm sure they will... in time.

I don't believe for a second that you are a fanboy. Reason being, is that they are mindless and usually tend to be the direct result of inbreeding or what not. You seem to have some civility about you so with that, I cant see you as being a fan boy. You can be a fan of something, but a fanboy is more or less the worst kind of fan.

Anyways onto "what i dont seem to realise". Comparing the Blue Ray and the Wiimote is a bit of a stretch as far as developement potential. Lets look at this way, a game is limited by its consoles hardware and the medium in which it is stored upon. The controller is often merely one part of a whole, therefor the potential with the wiimote is a bit misleading, as the games will be limited by the wii itself and the DVDs it uses. Now this is not to say the Wiimote is not amazing, personally its one of my favorite pieces of hardware on the market. Did you know people will buy the wiiremote because they can hook it up to their computer? It also works with the PS3. The beauty of the wiimote is that it can be used on any system just about. The sensor bar ninendo uses is actually only a device that emits a type of light that the wiimote picks up and sends to the information to the console. People have been known to make their own sensor bars to use the wiimote for its maxium potential.

But what is the potential for the wiimote? Its simply a controller that relies on body movement. This is good as it offers a new form of gameplay, but it is also a double edged sword because it too will limit the type of games that can be played on it. Developers know this, and therefor will develope games that only compliment the controller and its play style, this will prevent a lot of multiplatform games from coming to the wii. So as a double edged sword, the wiimote will give devopers a new approach to gameplay while at the same time alienating itself from the rest of the game world via its limited capabilties. Fun capabilties, but limited in its own way.

For the Blue Ray. It offers developers to really expand on their games. Games they usually have to compress, downgrade, lower and change just to fit on your average DVD. Developers for consoles have always complained about the space they have to deal with, because often they end up with a game thats far head than the current medium as to which the game must play upon. The reason it is good that Sony did this first was that by going blue ray first over the next gen console it sets the Blue ray as the dominant format. It attracts more developers and offers a reason to by the system for more than just gaming. Notice, that niether the wii nor 360 have HD-DVD. True, you can pay 200$ for an external hd-dvd drive for the 360, but no games will truely utilize that, nor would anyone want to pay $200 for a mere attachement.

To sum it up, blue ray gives more room and freedom for the developers to work with, the wiimote offers them a new approach at gameplay mechanics but overall is still limited by what they can do with it. Either way has the potential to make profit for the developers, it just depends on what kind of games they want to make.

Finally, I believe that the wii is not beating microsoft or sony. Why? Because i see the Wii in its own world. Its a completely different product that is cheap. So cheap that people would buy it with the intent of getting another system as well. I see the Wii a Happy Hour appetizer thats half off in price, and while you enjoy that appetizer you are trying to decide between the more expensive main course meal. The appetizer is not meant to be the full course meal, but its cheap and tasty, thus its usually a good idea to buy while you're planning for the more expensive meal. Does that make sense? The wii is different enough that its almost as if its a different product than the rest of the consoles, only reason being is price, controller, and target audience. Its so cheap that its easy to buy, even if its not intended to be the only source of entertainment the buyer wants or plans. The wii is too different than the other two consoles in terms of power, firmware, graphics, controls, and PRICE. It cant really be compared too much. The real battle is between the two super giants, sony and microsoft.

Final Fantasy Tactics (the real one), Final fantasy 7-8, Xenogears, Diablo, Thousand Arms... hell theres a lot of good 3d ps1 games that really increase the library of the PSP. The graphics of the DS cant really compare, even to the old games. Not dissing the DS but its not all perfect either.

yea ur right but the ds did dominate. it sold waaaaaayyy more than the psp. i mean waaaaayyy more. yea the psp has more features and stuff but when it comes to gamelay, gameplay, its just as fun or for some people even better. and like i said, its going to get some things the psp can do now like internet and stuff. I'm sorry that Nintendo happens to make their devices both better and more affordable but thats what most people want. As for graphics once again the graphics on the DS are just fine for me. They may not be all that great but Nintendo has never aimed for the "newest and most cutting edge graphics" so once again your argument about why the PSP is better is null and void. The sales speak for themselves. You can call all DS owners poor or w/e it is that sony supporters/fanboys are calling Nintendo supporters these days but the price is NOT the only reason the DS is doing so well. There are a whole lot more fun games on the DS than the PSP will ever have. And besides the Friends Code system the online part is pretty good from what I hear. Thats why I'm buying my little brother a DS Lite for his birthday later on this year.

*yawn * you will never get it. Sales speak for sales, system capabilties are not to be compared with sales. The DS is cheap and durable, great for children and people who dont want to spend a lot on a portable. I have quite a few friends that own both the DS and the PSP. The PSP is always used more than the DS. In fact they constantly refer to it(DS) as the best paperweight. Im sorry you cant admit that the PSP is good. People do use their psp for a lot more than just games, please crawl out from under your rock. The games on the PSP are great as well. nes-N64/ps1. We play them all.
The more affordable system is never always the best system, you really should stop being in denile.

However I know what I want and its not pathetic sony's ridiculous products that have nothing I need nor want in them. And for the record I can acknowledge when a company has a good product. Microsoft has great products and I think its good news that they're bring out their own portable. As for my knowledge of it I'm sorry that I don't follow every single news report in the gaming industry. But rest assure I'll look it up right now just to find out more. I'll gladly buy it in addition to a Nintendo portable when it comes out. Some of us do have lives outside of videogames.
