Sadness

yea wat is up with this game i hear different things about it that it got put off that its back on..idk..but the game does look good and i hope it does come thru

Hmm all in black in white? Ehh, I dont think thats so good. Unless they are able to really make the game look good, I dont think Wii has the graphics for a black and white game. Things will look to murky and harder to make things out. Even on PS3 and Xbox I think that would suck. Colors has a big impact on visuals of a game and give you a feel for the game alot more.

Nevertheless, despite withholding specific details about the game, Nibris has given us a whole lot to think about regarding their Wii-exclusive horror title. The information presented thus far has given us but a small taste of a title which could fill a wholly unique niche in the Wii's software lineup. The game is not only much more adult-oriented in content than what we have come to expect from titles exclusive to Nintendo consoles, but it is also stylistically distinct from any other video game on the market at the moment. We must remind readers of the key selling point to Sadness's graphical presentation: the game will be shown entirely in black and white. For Sadness, Nibris is trying to create a haunting atmosphere of Victorian-era horror. In order to better increase the photorealism of the in-game environments Nibris opted for this graphical technique. If this pans out, the game could end up being visually distinct from anything else out there.

Due to the scale of the project, Nibris has invited some recognized development teams to join in on the production of the game. Frontline Studios -- a 30-person team with experience developing for Nintendo platforms -- will be responsible for the programming of the game. 3D graphics specialists, Digital Amigos, will be saddled with the creation of the visual side of the game. A demo reel showcasing the recent 3D graphic work of Digital Amigos can be found here. Additionally many outside consultants including psychologists and horror authors were brought in to aid with the development of the title.

actually from reading that, hey may be able to pull it off. Hope fully the right techniques can make it look very good. Im looking foward to some screen shots.

Could be good, but I think this is one of those games that would definitely be better on the other, more graphically capable machines. From what I've read, it seems almost movie like in it's presentation, so the visuals will have a huge impact on gameplay.

And I think I disagree with it being black and white on the Wii, I am not a graphical game designer but given the wii's lack of graphics I think that black and white would be a perfect fit, not sure though as I really don't know much about it.

Are there any in-game screenshots/videos of this game?

nope they arent bein released yet

Damn. This is one heck of a "top-secret" game to only release an E3 Trailer and that's it... There are 2 videos on their website, they don't work for me...

Yea, all they have are concept drawings. I just hope they have some great graphic designers like Retro Studio did with Metroid Prime and Nintendo with Zelda and Mario Galaxy. Though, those are done in color, so if they can pull this off, it will truley be one of a kind and innovative. Im rooting for them to do this well.
