Start Off as Zero Suit Samus In Multiplayer Brawl?

I've heard you can do it, but im wondering how? (I'm using the wiimote and nunchuck configuration, with the default controls)

I know when u use the GC controller u hold R while its loading.... Try holding B or Z

EDIT: Simplified explanation: select Samus. Hold B or Z, doesn't matter, as you press the + button. When you see the stage select, you can let go of every button and continue as normal. The game will start with samus shedding her armor.

i held it after i selected the stage and it worked too.
