Wii-mote or Wii-mote and Nunchuck together. I haven't played a brawl game and don't have a GC controller (yet). I might as well just get good at the wii-mote.

Nintendo will promote use of the new Remote so it may be advantageous to use the Remote. Do you suppose different characters/powers may be controller dependent?

I'm not too sure about that because Nintendo president Satoru Iwata himself stated he will want to use the gamecube controller for Brawl.

No, all characters will be able to be controlled by any of the compatible controllers. Now, it might be true however, that some controllers are easier to control specific characters than other controllers.
