STUCK ON METROID!!! Please help!

Ok, I've tried searching for something but I can't find anything. I'm at the part early on on Bylro or something where I've just passed that big robot thing on the floor and I've carried on and there is a ledge where I can't cross to get to the other side. How do I cross? I get the feeling I need to scan something. Am I right? If so which scan and how do I do it. Basic scan I hold Z but the other how?

you scan some rock close to that jump(well alittle more back its like the only rock you can scan) that you say you have to jump
and then explode it with a missle =D
there will be a hole and well you should figure out the rest =]]

is it where you need to get on top of the ledge that you cant jump up to? you need to take a detour until you get an upgrade. you need to find a way to the top of the room. i cant remember where it is. but its in one of the corners. my advice seems crappy now. but once you find the way to the top everythiing will fall into place

Scan everything read it, dont use walkthroughs

scan everything........ charged shot everything, try ball form or try to find a point to grab on using z and nunchuck.......
