What's different?

I'm getting a Wii soon but i want to know what's different about it. In the past I have had a Game Cube, Nintendo DS, Gameboy Advanced SP, Playstation 1 and Playstation 2. What sets the Wii apart from other gaming systems? Are there any problems or glitches it has that I should be warned about? Ohhh...also, what is the cheapest price it is being sold for, in Connecticut.

No problems or glitches. I've never known any Nintendo system to have widespread problems.

-Motion controls, make you feel like you're in the game rather than a person trying to manipulate several buttons
-Zelda and Metroid have become completely different experiences with this control style
-BRAWL is coming
-Wii is online

Thats all I have for now.

But yes its worth the buy, it has great potential

He is talking about buttons on other controllers such as the xbox 360

ahhh.. well there is a minority of people getting a pixel problem due to it overheating and messing with the video card... It's no manufacturing defect just take care of your wii and KEEP IT OFF TEH CARPETS...

I've never heard of this. My Wii has been sitting on my carpet since launch (and pretty much never turned off  )

You can download classic games like Super Mario 64 ranging from NES-N64, Mega Drive, TurboGrafx and soon NEOGEO which you can then use the Classic Controller to play with. ...At a fair price...

Is the problem permenent? Like, even unfixable?

Approximately 1% of Wii's and PS3's malfunction within 2 years.

Approximately 50% of all Xbox 360's malfunction within 1 year.

You have nothing to worry about

I hear Walmart has some cheap. I wouldn't know though as I live in the UK.

Whatever you do, do NOT buy off ebay. I have heard many stories on these forums that people have bought Wii's which are from the wrong region, faulty or modded. The modded ones arn't bad, but most of the time they will cost alot more.

If you do buy online, make sure it is a trusted site such as amazon.com

Yeah I have it too and its permanent but fixable

and to be fair Wii online isn't as good as the 360 or PS3.. There are only around 4 games that support Online play right now and for some of them you have to use friend codes which is really annoying

Do remember though, that Wii online is FREE, whereas XBOX LIVE costs money. I don't know if PS3 costs money for online play but i'm assuming they do.
