Which wii drum kit is best ?

Hi all,
I know I am a bit late on the scene but I am trying to figure out which drum kit to get for the wii. As far as I can see there are two types, the Rock band ones that come without cymbals but extra drum and the band hero ones that come with cymbals and three drums.
It seems to me that it would be better to have a set with cymbals but could someone tell me the pro's and cons of both sets please.

Problem is, most are not cross compatible on the Wii, so you might end up having one of each.

I recently had to get some Guitar hero bits and it is a bit tedious

is there a free play mode in these games so you can just play the drums if you like?
