Wii in Australia thread

I tell you a game I'm thinking of buy; The Witcher. After watching the Video review of Gametrailers I've become quite interested in this. But how much do PC Games cost these days, about the same as console games?

They tend to cost less, but make sure they are playable on your pc

EDIT: so why not get SMG? Its by FAR better than Metroid Prime 3

You can obtain wiipoints from over the counter at various stores (EB's, Walmart, depends where you live). Or they are available through the wiishop channel and are purchased using your credit/visa/debit card. This method is safe, unless if you have an unencrypted connection.

The cost varies on the amount of wiipoints you purchase, here in australia its $25 every 1000 i think.

Enjoying Galaxy there, kill bill fan?

I'm planning on getting a new laptop - just so I can play more PC games. Most don't like my computer. They still play on it, but not fast enough for my liking.

Im quite happy with mine, but I want a newer video card, 8800GTS doesnt cut it.
I use PC for 'hardcore gaming' and Wii for... softcore(?) gaming.

500 for SNES
800(i think) for Genises
1000 for N64

If you are buying a computer for some pc gaming AT ALL COSTS DO NOT GET A LAPTOP. You can buy a desktop computer that can perform twice as fast as a $3000 laptop under $1500. And then its much easier to upgrade and keep with the speedy trend.

Ah no, I actually need it to be a laptop. You know, moving it around and stuff. Uni and all that. Plus, the Uni I'm going to does have computers there (obviously) but they give you very limited downloads, but if you bring your own computer you are allowed unlimited. Apparently.

And nah, I'm not JUST getting a new laptop for gaming.

Alrighty then, if thats the case go for one of the high end acer aspires. Good deal for your money, and the specs SHOULD be high enough for decent gaming. Otherwise, get Hp, thats for the extremely dull and clumsy uni students.

EDIT: TO make this page even more useful to nintendo whilst keeping computers in mind. I have decided to share that Intel may be powering the next big nintendo console, instead of IBM.

i got a bloody Dell, you cant upgrade the things!
wish i knew that before i bought S.T.A.L.K.E.R.S. and a video card.

I got my wireless router from www.umart.com.au. It's a linksys wrg54g or something close to that. I saw it advertised in the WOW sight and sound catalogue for $69, that's very cheap for a good router! Let me know if you want any advice on them, I've done heaps of searching for good ones.
Thanks. Well is there much difference between the cheap ones like the one you said and $100 - $200 ones?

Also which are the 'better' brands?
